Updated: September 9, 2026. These terms describe the use of GetDebtFree.tools’ free educational resources. The project’s creator and editorial contact is Xavier Carraté.
Free access and educational purpose
The site’s articles and tools are available without a subscription or a required purchase. They provide general information about debt in the United States. A tool result or article does not assess all your circumstances or provide personalised financial, legal, tax or investment advice. Using the site does not engage Xavier or GetDebtFree to act as your adviser, debt negotiator, tax preparer or legal representative.
Using calculations and documents
Results depend on your entries and the assumptions stated by each tool. Actual statements can differ because of daily interest, fees, timing, changing rates or other contract terms. Check the methodology and your provider’s records before relying on an estimate. Templates need to be adapted to their stated purpose and your circumstances; downloading a document does not file or send it for you.
You may print or download available results for your own planning and share them with someone helping you. Keep exported files secure if they contain information you entered. A feature’s availability and calculation model may change when errors are corrected or the product is improved.
Commercial links and outside services
GetDebtFree participates in CuraDebt’s affiliate programme through Awin. A qualifying action through a paid referral link may produce a commission. Affiliation can influence which providers are featured; this site is not a complete comparison of the market. A referral does not guarantee eligibility, savings or suitability. See the commercial disclosure.
External websites and providers have their own fees, privacy practices and terms. Review them before sharing information or signing an agreement. Using GetDebtFree’s free resources does not require accepting a partner’s offer. Advertising is part of the planned funding model; new advertising formats will be described when introduced.
Responsible use and reuse
Use the site without interfering with other users or attempting unauthorised access to systems or data. Original articles and code remain subject to their applicable intellectual-property rights; free access does not grant a licence to republish the entire site. You may link to our pages and quote short passages with attribution. The educator handouts have an explicit free-copying permission on their page; follow its attribution and adaptation conditions. Corrections, privacy and changes
The editorial standards explain review scope and corrections. Report a problem through the contact page. Read the privacy information before sending personal details or using external links. The update date above identifies this version of the terms.
These terms do not promise particular financial outcomes and do not remove rights or remedies that applicable law gives you.
What a result or document does not do
An estimate is not a lender payoff quote, an offer of credit, a debt-settlement agreement, a guarantee of savings or a decision about your legal rights. A displayed lower monthly payment may come with a longer term or higher total cost. Verify the full written terms and current statement before deciding.
A worksheet, letter or general guide does not suspend a court deadline, a collection deadline or a payment obligation. Do not ignore a summons or stop a required payment solely because of a tool result. Obtain appropriate help for a notice that requires a response.
Language versions and source documents
English, Spanish and selected pages in Simplified and Traditional Chinese describe US products and US-dollar calculations. Chinese is an initial written release with AI-assisted checks; independent professional language review is pending. It does not establish spoken Mandarin or Cantonese support by an external provider. A translated guide does not change the terms of your contract or the governing law. Report discrepancies so that they can be reviewed.
Responsibility, complaints and rights
We take reasonable steps to maintain the tools and correct substantiated errors, but do not promise uninterrupted access or that every page is free of mistakes. Contact xaviercahe@gmail.com with the page, observed issue and a fictional reproducible example. Do not include private financial records. A report is not a substitute for meeting a legal or contractual deadline.
These terms do not exclude responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude, require you to indemnify us for our own error, impose mandatory arbitration, shorten a statutory claim period or waive consumer or data-protection rights. Contacting us first is not a condition for contacting an authority or using a remedy available under applicable law.
